One day, Jesus was standing on a hill overlooking Jerusalem. He saw in that city people who were much like us. He said of them, "They are like sheep without a shepherd." He wept. What would Jesus see if He looked out over Shawnee? Would He see the mom who sold her son's bicycle for drug money? Would he see homes where there is no food? Would he see children being beaten? Or other children crying because there dad had just been taken away by the police? At Good Shepherd Chapel, we believe we understand why Jesus wept over Jerusalem. There are times that we weep too. Good Shepherd Chapel is a fellowship of people who, like Jesus, care about those who are hurting. We are in the same building as Mission Shawnee, an organization that brings churches together to meet needs. We operate a large food pantry. We have a counselor on our ministry team. Come be part of this new church. On Sunday mornings, we eat breakfast and have Bible study and worship between 9:30 and noon. On Sunday afternoons, we have tons of children and teenagers, as well as a good number of adults who have recreation, Bible study, supper, and worship between 4:30 and 7:00. If you need a ride, call our help line at 313-2125. |
